General Surgery Practice, Houston, TX
Dr. Bluhm is a native Texan who went to medical school at the University Health Science Center in Houston. He is currently completing his general surgical residency in San Antonio at UTHSCSA. He is interested in laparoscopic surgery and acute care surgery. After completion of his residency, Dr. Bluhm plans to return to his hometown of Houston to practice general surgery in a private setting.

Dr. Bohnenblust attended UT School of Medicine San Antonio and is completing the general surgery residency at UT School of Medicine San Antonio as well. Her interests include plastic and reconstructive surgery, trauma surgery and hand surgery.

US Air Force General Surgery, Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB, Texas
Dr. Duffy attended medical school in Galveston following graduate school in Dallas where he conducted research on the molecular and cell biology of trauma and burns. He has operated his own martial arts school and worked as an industrial chemist in the past. Current interests include general, thoracic and trauma surgery. He currently serves in the US Air Force 59th Medical Wing at Lackland AFB and UTHSCSA as chief administrative resident.

Dr. Kim is a native of Florida attending the University of Florida for his undergraduate education. He went on to receive his medical education at the Tulane University School of Medicine. Interests include golf, physical fitness, and travel. Professional interests include general, hepatobiliary, minimally invasive, and colorectal surgery. He currently in his chief year of General Surgery at UTHSCSA/SAUSHEC combined training program serving also as an administrative chief.

Critical Care Fellowship, UT School of Medicine San Antonio, Division of Trauma and Emergency Surgery, San Antonio, TX
Lillian Liao is a microeconomist and public health advocate turned surgeon. Her primary clinical and research interests are vascular and pediatric trauma surgery. Dr. Liao hopes to incorporate all aspects of her education and training into her career development as a surgeon. Dr. Liao obtained her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and her MPH from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Transplant Surgery Fellowship, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Penn.
Dr. Mejia is native of Panama, but moved to Guadalajara, Mexico in 1998 for Medical School. As a part of the six-year medical school program, he completed a sub-internship with the William J. Harrington Program at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami during his fifth year and then conducted clinical research with the Department of Trauma Surgery at UTHSCSA during his sixth year. He is currently completing his chief year of General Surgery at UTHSCSA. In July 2010, he will be starting a two-year fellowship in Multi-Organ Abdominal Transplant Surgery with the University of Pittsburgh (UPMC) to fulfill his professional interests in Liver Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery.

US Air Force General Surgery, Travis AFB, Vacaville, Calif.
Dr. Steigelman was born in Alaska and raised in Pennsylvania and Maryland. She went to high school in Annapolis, Maryland, where she was captain of both indoor and outdoor track teams. She attended Towson University outside of Baltimore, Maryland, and went to medical school in the Air Force at USUHS, graduating in 2003. She has been at UTHSCSA since then, completing a residency in General Surgery. In her off time, Megan likes to exercise and spend time outdoors with her son, Alex, and her husband, Dan.

Endocrine Fellowship, The Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.
Dr. Vazquez was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico where she pursued a BS Biology at the Pontifical Catholic University. She obtained her medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine and is currently completing her chief year of General Surgery at UTHSCSA. In June 2010, she will be starting a one-year fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. During her free time she enjoys mountain biking and cinematography.

Colorectal Surgery Fellowship, Georgia Colon and Rectal Clinic, Atlanta, Georgia
Dr. Yi was born in Tampa, Florida and raised around the world as an Army brat. She received her BS in Biology and a BA in Music from Emory University. She received her MD from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and is currently a Maj(s) in the USAF. In July she will be moving to Atlanta, GA to begin a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery. In her spare time she enjoys running, range shooting and is a wine hobbyist.
